DCE For Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District Donates Dual Desks To 15 Basic Schools.

DCE – Hon. Isaac Odoom donating dual desks to heads of 15 basic schools.

The District Chief Executive for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa constituency, yesterday May 9, 2019 donated dual desks to 15 Basic schools within the district.

Mr. Isaac Odoom, District Chief Executive for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District, yesterday provided 300 dual desks to 15 Basic schools in his District.

The schools that received the first batch of the dual desk donation are as follows: Brakwa Eshiem D/A, Brakwa lslamic B, Towoboase D/A, Brakwa D/A, Fankyenko D/A, Asikuma Catholic Boys, Fosuansa Methodist, Kuntsenase presby. The rest are: Nankese D/A, Anhwiam D/A, Asikuma presby
Asuoko D/A, Afofosu presby and Boame Nkwanta.

According to the DCE, the furniture which was procured through the District Assembly Common Fund is aimed at improving teaching and learning in the Aaikuma Odoben Brakwa area.

He reiterated his commitment to education adding that he would make sure every school in his district has furniture by the end of the year.

“You can recall that a few months ago, I donated several thousands of exercise books and mathematical sets and again implemented policies like free class during holidays with free transport for those coming from afar.”

“All these gives meaning to what his Excellency the President of the Republic was saying that money should not be an excuse preventing education to citizens. And apart from these that I have mentioned, I have received a lot of appeal from the various basic school headmasters and I decided to embark on this initiative.”

Mr. Odoom. urged teachers in the district to work assiduously to improve the BECE results.

He emphasized that the furniture will go a long way in reducing the furniture crisis within the district.

He also reiterated that additional 1200 desks have also been procured and that will add up to the existing ones.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) director of Asikuma Odoben Beakwa, Mr Stephen Aidoo, said, furniture is one of their greatest challenges and that, the donated pieces of dual desks will give some students a sigh of relief they can now study comfortably without lying on their bellies..
