Former DCE For Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District Embarks On A Clean-Up Exercise At Agona Odoben.

Former DCE, Honourable Adjei Doomson

The Former District Chief Executive for the people of Askiuma Odoben Brakwa District, Honourable Adjei Doomson, on the 1st of July, 2019 embarked on an intensive clean-up exercise throughout the principal streets of Agona Odoben the second major town in the district.

Desilted Gutters

The young politician who was appointed as the District Chief Executive during the erstwhile Prez John Agyekum Kuffour’s government served a four year tenure from 2005 to 2009.

Honourable Adjie Doomson worked together with Honourable P. C. Appiah-Ofori who was then the elected Member of Parliament for the people of Askiuma Odoben Brakwa Constituency.

After his four (4) year tenure in office as the District Chief Executive, the young vibrant politician now works
as a managing partner of a Consortium, Offers consultancy services in governance, corporate and mass communications, and also works with Donor Agencies and Development Partners.

On Monday, 1st July, 2019 which marked Ghana’s Republic Day, the Former DCE embarked on a non-partisan community based Clean-Up exercise throughout the principal streets of Agona Odoben in helping ensure good environmental sanitation in the community.

The communal Labour activity saw to attendence of one Queen Mother, the Omankrado, Family Heads, Agona Odoben community members, workers from Zoomlion, Police Officers as well as some energetic youth from the town.

It was such a uniting moment when members from the NDC and NPP joined hands to participate in the sanitation initiative irrespective of their political party affiliations.

Duties carried out during the exercise included; sweeping of principal streets, the desilting of choked gutters along the streets, and weeding of bushes along the road side.

A truck was hired to collect desilted sand from gutters and were disposed properly unlike the national sanitation exercise where silts and filts are left at the banks of the gutters to be washed by rains back into the gutters.

The exercise which begun early in the morning lasted for about five hours. Participants were well refreshed for their hardwork.

The former DCE, Honourable Adjei Doomson expressed his sincere gratitude to the Elders, stakeholders and the entire youth of Agona Odoben for their massive turn out for the exercise and making the initiative a great success.
He appreciated the presence of Omankrado, the Queen Mother, Elders and family heads, workers from Zoomlion and the police service led by the station officer.

encouraged all of them to continue the clean up initiative in order to get rid of filts in the town and urged all to be united and champion development irrespective of their political differences in the town.
